DAY TO DAY SCHEDULE

The mornings begin with coffee/tea/juice and leaving for the stables where the day starts with checking all the horses and making sure everything is running smoothly and daily routine for horses is setup.  Breakfast is available for students to cook themselves.
We then start with the first section of the day which could be either riding horses in the arena, going out into the bush for a horse trail, game drive or bush walk.  Once back at the stable yard lectures begin at approximately 10h30 where there is either theory or practical lessons, depending on the subject for that day.  The lectures average about 2 hours and once finished there is to rest, have lunch or catch up on some personal things.
Afternoon lectures then begin again at 14h30 with practical lectures whereby students are given riding lessons, taught to give lessons to children, taught to work with horses in hand as well as more advanced riding in different disciplines depending on their level of skill.
At the end of the day all horses are checked and students are taken back to their accommodation to relax, catch up on correspondence back home, or sit outside listening to the African night sounds.  Night drives and sleep outs in the bush are arranged as well.
Some days are allocated for excursions and Friday nights is a social event, which is optional and will be for the students own account.  Saturday is a day of rest for students and only Sunday mornings are filled with activities.
All theory and practical lessons are based around horse trails in the bush and students are able to learn the art of viewing nature on horseback. The Equestrian Centre has 30 stables and has employed staff to clean the stables and manage the daily schedule with regard to the horses.  Students would therefore not be doing the manual work in order to keep the stables clean and tidy but rather learn about these activities and assist the staff in some of the activities to gain the experience.
